Joey Parent (RSM ’09) was recently awarded the 2015 VRSA Professional Award of Merit by the Virginia Recreational Sports Association. The award is given annually to a practicing campus recreation professional in recognition of their outstanding contributions, involvements and exceptional performance both on their campus and within VRSA and the National Intramural and Recreational Sports Association (NIRSA). Joey is currently the Assistant Director for Outdoor Adventure Programs in the Recreational Sports Department at Virginia Commonwealth University. He graduated from the Recreation and Sport Management program in 2009.
