TEACHING INTERESTS
Sullivan has teaching and coaching specializations in advanced strength and conditioning, track and field and martial arts. Sullivan comes from Penn State University where he created a student fitness assessment center, taught theory and activity classes, and worked with Men’s and Women’s Track and Field, Women’s Rugby and USA Rugby. Prior to Penn State, Sullivan was a Strength and Conditioning Coach at Stanford University where he was directly responsible for training 24 Varsity athletic teams. Sullivan has lived, trained and taught extensively in Japan and holds the ranks of 4th degree black belt in Aikido, 3rd degree black belt in Aikido Weapons, 2nd degree black belt in Karate and 1st degree black belt in Kendo. In addition to being a full-time faculty member in the KRSS Department, Sullivan is a Volunteer Assistant Coach for the Tennessee Men’s and Women’s Track and Field team, with a specialization in his former event, the pole vault.
