Information on RSM 570 Event Management for this summer

Dr. Rob Hardin asked that I share the following information with you regarding RSM 570.

The class focus is working at events so that will very much a part of what the classes do. The classes will meet Monday, June 4 – Friday, June 8, and Monday, June 11 – Thursday, June 14 from 9:45 a.m. to 11:15 a.m. There will be an event to work Friday, June 15, Monday, June 18, and Tuesday, June 19. You should plan on being available most all day those days if possible. Schedules are flexible and can be worked around. The 4Kay Run/Walk is Saturday, June 9. Also, there will be an Adaptive Golf Clinic which is not yet scheduled. Two events that can be used for class but are before the class begins occur Friday, May 11 and there is an event Sunday, May 6. Coach Fulmer’s golf tournament for the Boys & Girls Club is May 11 and the Rev3 Triathlon is May 6. Those are during finals so only volunteer to work if it will not interfere with your finals. There are also days to volunteer leading up the Rev3 Triathlon. You basically need to volunteer 52 hours in addition to the class meeting times.

RSM 570 can be used for a RSM elective for Sport Management master’s students, an elective for Therapeutic Recreation master’ students, and elective for students in the Sport Psychology/Motor Behavior master’s program (with advisor approval).
