Exercise Science/ Kinesiology
Position: | Lecturer in Kinesiology.
Earliest starting Date: August 1, 2013 |
Qualifications required: | Doctoral Degree in Exercise Physiology (PhD, Ed.D.) or related field preferred. ABD considered. Demonstrated competence in undergraduate teaching, effective communication, and interpersonal skills. |
Qualifications preferred: | Master’s and/or Bachelor’s degrees in Kinesiology/ Exercise Science/Human
Performance or related field. Teaching and field supervisory experience preferred. Familiarity with synchronous and asynchronous instruction. |
Duties: | Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in kinesiology, exercise science, and human performance as appropriate for area of expertise.
Maintain involvement in University, College, Departmental service and active engagement in professional service at the national/international, regional, and state or community levels. Student advisement. |
Appointment: | Permanent Lecturer position with yearly reappointment. Summer semester teaching is frequently available. |
The Program: | The Exercise Science program is housed in the Department of Kinesiology (soon to be the School of Health & Human Performance) and offers a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Exercise Science and a Masters of Education (M.Ed.) in Kinesiology with a Human Performance emphasis. Exercise Science is our largest major in Kinesiology with approximately 350 students, and we offer the choice between a 3-year or 4-year program to degree. This position became necessary to meet the needs we have to offer more sections of courses more frequently in order to accommodate all of our majors. |
