Please note the following deadlines for graduate students who have applied to graduate in Summer 2013:
JUNE 21 – Submit draft online of dissertation or thesis or meet with Thesis/Dissertation Consultant for preliminary review of dissertation/thesis in 111 SSB. Contact Sarah Stone, Thesis/Dissertation Consultant at thesis@utk.edu.
JULY 5 – Deadline to schedule comprehensive/final exams for graduation and defense of thesis in the academic department. Pass/fail forms are generated in the academic department or by the student, depending upon the academic program. Please see academic department for more information.
JULY 12- Doctoral Students – Submit Scheduling of Defense of Dissertation form no later than this date in 111 SSB. This form should be submitted at least one week prior to the defense. Submission of this form to the Graduate School triggers the creation and distribution of the Pass/fail form in the Graduate School.
JULY 19 – Deadline for defense of dissertation/ defense of thesis/ final examination. Be sure to have pass/fail forms and thesis/dissertation approval sheets ready to be signed with original signatures of all committee members.
AUG 2- Deadline for submission of approved and accepted dissertation/thesis to TRACE by 5:00 p.m. If you have questions about “approved and accepted” – contact Sarah Stone, Thesis/Dissertation Consultant.
AUG 2 – Deadline for submission of completed and acceptable Pass/fail forms (paper) and Approval Sheets (paper) by 5:00 p.m. to the Graduate School, 111 SSB. Original signatures of all committee members are required.
Aug 9 – Verify removal of all incompletes and NR grades for graduation in 111 SSB.
Aug 15 – Instructors must have all Summer 2013 grades submitted online by noon. We encourage earlier submission for grades for graduating students, especially 500 Thesis and 600 Doctoral Research/Dissertation.
Please note that the degree date for Summer 2013 is August 10, 2013.
