The Department of Special Education, Counseling, and Student Affairs in the College of Education at Kansas State University in Manhattan, KS, invites applications for a tenure-track assistant professor – student services in intercollegiate athletics position.

Responsibilities:
This position involves teaching graduate courses that focus upon the needs and experiences of college student athletes, teaching research courses as needed, advising and mentoring graduate students, conducting scholarly research, seeking external funding, and participating in departmental, college, and university service.
Required Qualifications:
- Earned doctorate (by August 2014) in Sport Psychology, Sport Management, Student Affairs, Higher Education, Counseling, or a related field with an emphasis on college student athletes;
- Strong potential for excellence in college or university teaching;
- Strong potential for excellence in research and external funding;
- Experience working with diverse populations;
- Coursework or training related to college student athletes; and
- Demonstrated excellence in oral and written communication.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Established record in college or university teaching;
- Established record in research and external funding;
- Knowledge of theories of college student development;
- Knowledge of NCAA regulations;
- Involvement in professional associations; and
- Experience integrating technology into the classroom and/or participating in online courses.
