“EMPOWERING WOMEN THROUGH SPORTS” PUBLIC POLICY PANEL DISCUSSION

Join the University of Tennessee’s Center for Sport, Peace, and Society on April 3rd for a panel discussion with Michelle Kwan, five-time world figure skating champion, two-time Olympic medalist, and Senior Advisor at the U.S. Department of State and 24 female athletes from every region of the world. Hear the stories of basketball players and coaches as they speak to women’s empowerment and sport systems in Argentina, Kyrgyzstan, Lebanon, Nigeria, South Korea, and Turkey.

The discussion will also include remarks from the following guests:
• Mayor Madeline Rogero, City of Knoxville
• Chancellor Jimmy G. Cheek, University of Tennessee
• Dean Bob Rider, College of Education, Health, and Human Sciences
