Chancellor’s Award NOMINATION DEADLINE EXTENDED TO DECEMBER 2, 2015 at 5:00

NOMINATION DEADLINE EXTENDED TO DECEMBER 2, 2015 at 5:00

Do you know a professor or advisor who has inspired you or who you think is exceptional?  If so, please consider nominating them for one of these two awards:

Chancellor’s Award of Excellence in Advising

As a part of The University of Tennessee, Knoxville’s “Top 25” campaign, the Chancellor desires to recognize advisors of students who you believe have distinguished themselves as highly committed to the advising and mentoring of students on this campus. Two awards will be given to professional college advisors/advising administrators for undergraduate advising and two awards to faculty for either undergraduate advising or graduate mentoring, for a total of four awards. A professional college advisor/advising administrator is defined as staff serving within one of the nine colleges’ advising centers/offices whose primary role is undergraduate advising or leading undergraduate college-based advising programs. Other academic support/enhancement staff are not eligible for this particular award. The Chancellor is also seeking nominations of outstanding individuals who are not professional college advisors/advising administrators who nonetheless advise and mentor undergraduate and graduate students for the “Chancellor’s Excellence in Advising Awards.” Nominations should be for those who have demonstrated the ability to guide and encourage students to reach their goals and go beyond what they otherwise might have achieved. We encourage you to nominate an individual who has excelled in these responsibilities over the past three years. You can find the nomination form here:  http://senate.utk.edu/2015/10/26/2015-chancellors-excellence-in-advising-award/

Chancellor’s Award of Excellence in Teaching:

Teaching performance is a critically important component of our university community as we pursue Top 25 recognition. To that end, the Chancellor is seeking nominations of outstanding faculty or lecturers for consideration of the “Chancellor’s Excellence in Teaching Award.” Nominations should be for those who demonstrate the ability to communicate knowledge that significantly separates their skills in knowledge dissemination from all other teachers on the campus. We encourage you to nominate a faculty member or lecturer who has excelled in these responsibilities over the past three years (Graduate Teaching Assistants are not eligible for this award). Previous winners from the past 5 years are not eligible for nomination. You can complete the nomination form here:  http://senate.utk.edu/2015/10/26/2015-chancellors-excellence-in-teaching-award/

Thank you for your help in identifying outstanding faculty and lecturers.
