Graduate and Professional Student Appreciation Week: Days 2-5

Tuesday, April 5

Free Portraits: The UT Libraries are offering free professional portraits for graduate and professional students from noon to 4:00 p.m. in the Studio, Hodges Library. A graduate student ID will be required. These photos can be used for professional social media and networking accounts such as LinkedIn. Noon to 2:00 p.m. reservations are filled; the Libraries will accept walk-ins from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m.

Career Paths Outside Academia Workshop: 4:00–5:00 p.m. in Center for Career Development Room 229. Sponsored by the Center for Career Development.

Wednesday, April 6

Love Your Graduate and Professional Student Day: A daylong opportunity for faculty, staff, students, and administrators to do something special for the graduate or professional students in their lives.

Night Out with the Vols Baseball Team: Free tickets for patio seating at the 6:00 p.m. game are available online.

Thursday, April 7

Developing a Teaching Portfolio Workshop: 1:00–3:00 p.m., in the International House Great Room. Sponsored by the Tennessee Teaching and Learning Center.

Friday, April 8

Three-Minute Thesis Competition: The UT Libraries will hold a three-minute thesis competition from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. in the Mary E. Greer Room, Hodges Library. Graduate students will hone their presentation and communication skills by describing their thesis topic in three minutes or less in language appropriate to a non-specialist audience. A panel of judges will select the most successful presentations and winners will be announced at 4:00 p.m. To reserve time to pitch your thesis, register online.

Massage and Snack Break: The libraries will offer free massages from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. in Hodges Library Room 211. A graduate student IDs will be required. Register to reserve your spot online. Snacks will also be available in the Commons throughout the day.
