Breaking News: Love joins UT

The Department of Kinesiology, Recreation, and Sport Studies is very pleased to announce the hiring of Dr. Adam Love. He will join our faculty this fall. Dr. Love’s first teaching assignment will be RSM 535 “Ethics in Sport Management.”

Dr. Love received his PhD with a concentration in sport studies and a specialization in sociology of sport from the University of Tennessee in 2008. Previously, he had earned a master’s of science degree in sport management from the University of Tennessee in 2004 and a bachelor’s of art from Washington State University (major: sport management, minor: communication). In 2008, he joined the Department of Kinesiology at Mississippi State University as an Assistant Professor in sport management. In 2014, he was promoted and tenured as Associate Professor. Dr. Love’s research and teaching builds a strong bridge between sport sociology and sport management. He has published in highly ranked journals such as Ethnic and Racial Studies and Gender & Society. The latter is the number one journal in gender studies and a top-10 journal in sociology.
