The Department of Health and Human Sciences seeks a full-time tenure-track Assistant Professor in Health and Human Sciences with a specialty in Health and Exercise Science (HES) beginning August 2017.

Successful candidates will possess a Ph.D. or Ed.D. in Exercise Science or a related field. ABD candidates will be considered if their degrees are expected to be conferred prior to August 1, 2017. We seek candidates with specialization in Exercise Physiology, though a strong background in any health and exercise science-related field will be considered. Candidates with backgrounds in a health care setting are preferred. The successful candidate will teach a variety of major classes in the department of Health & Human Sciences including kinesiology, exercise physiology, management concepts in health care, research methods, principles of health and physical fitness assessment, etc.

Bridgewater College is a residential liberal arts college of 1800 students with a newly redesigned core curriculum and a growing focus on undergraduate research. General Information

Bridgewater offers bachelor of arts and bachelor of science degrees in more than 60 majors and minors, along with multiple areas of emphasis and concentrations, pre-professional programs such as medicine and law, dual degree programs and teacher certification. The College is a member of NCAA Division III and the Old Dominion Athletic Conference, with 22 intercollegiate athletic teams. The vibrant 300-acre residential campus includes an equestrian center and is located in the town of Bridgewater, Virginia, near the city of Harrisonburg in the center of the Shenandoah Valley. An excellent school system, healthy business environment, numerous arts and cultural events, the state’s lowest crime rate, and a variety of outdoor opportunities and historic attractions draw many to the region.
