Meet and greet: Sonya Shaw (tomorrow)

Tomorrow, Friday, September 30, our department will be hosting a Sonya Shaw as part of the university’s Future Faculty program. She is a doctoral student at North Carolina State University. She has more than 20 years of experience in Parks, Recreation and Tourism Management focused on leadership, management, budgeting and finance, programs, festivals and tourism planning and management, grant writing and administration, and facility/park planning and development.

Graduate students will have an opportunity to meet our guest from 1:15-1:45 PM in HPER 393.

She will be giving a research presentation from 2 to 2:45 in HPER Room 239. The topic of the presentation will be: “The Career Experiences of African American Women Leaders in Parks and Recreation Organizations”
