NextProf Science is a workshop aimed at future faculty—talented people who are currently advanced doctoral students and postdoctoral trainees. The 2017 workshop will be held over four days on the University of Michigan campus, May 2-5, 2017. It will offer panels on topics such as life in academia, the faculty search process, developing a teaching philosophy and writing a research statement, as well as presentations by higher education experts. The workshop is free to participants selected to attend through the application process. Travel (within the United States), lodging and meals will be provided for attendees. Participants should be advanced doctoral students or postdoctoral fellows who are interested in an academic career in science or mathematics, and who have demonstrated a commitment to diversity.
