The Department of Kinesiology, Sports Studies, and Physical Education (KSSPE) at The College at Brockport – SUNY is seeking a one-year faculty appointment in Kinesiology to begin August 21, 2017.
The Department of KSSPE maintains the largest student enrollment on campus and houses five majors (Athletic Training, Exercise Physiology, Kinesiology, Physical Education Teacher Education, and Sport Management). Kinesiology is a growing major with a broad liberal arts focus.
Duties include: 1) Teach undergraduate classes in Kinesiology, specifically Sport and Society, History of Sport and other courses in Kinesiology such as Motor Development; 2) Advise approximately 40 undergraduate majors per semester; and 3) provide service to the department as well as the college.
Required Qualifications: 1) An earned Masters Degree in Kinesiology or related field; 2) the ability to teach courses in Kinesiology; 3) the ability to teach a diverse student body; and 4) the ability to provide service to the college community.
Preferred Qualifications: 1) Previous college level teaching experience in Kinesiology; 2) ABD or Ph.D; 3) record of service at any of the following levels: department, college, professional, or community.
