If you have an “I” from summer 2016, it will soon convert to an “F.” Your instructor will have to submit all change of grade forms for summer 2016, by noon on August 9, 2017. This will allow staff to make the changes prior to converting those “I” grades to “F”.
When an instructor issues a grade of “I” – Incomplete – the grade must be changed within one calendar year or the grade converts to an “F”. Every semester this creates problems for students because GPAs take a real hit when the failing grade is averaged into the cumulative grade point average. We make decisions on academic standing at the end of each semester, and when the cumulative GPA falls below our cutpoints, students face probation or even dismissal.
