POSITION ADVERTISEMENT:

The Division of Student Life at the University of Tennessee invites applications for Graduate Student Intern in Center for Health Education & Wellness. Reporting to Associate Director, the purpose of the internship is to research, develop, coordinate, and assess the rollout of the University of Tennessee Smoke free campus initiative under an 18-month American Cancer Society grant.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

 Evaluate and expand the current Smoke free taskforce

 Compile and review current university data regarding smoking prevalence at UTK

 Conduct assessment(s) and analyze data provided by American Cancer Society Tobacco-Free Generation Campus Initiative

 Utilize data to develop programs and initiatives in support of a Smoke free campus.

 Facilitate Smoke free campus programs

 Develop information for campus wide distribution, which could include but is not limited to: emails, publications, websites, social media, and social marketing campaigns

 Complete a final assessment of Smoke free related events and initiatives across the UTK campus

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

Required:

 Graduate student at the University of Tennessee who is currently enrolled in in public health, nutrition, kinesiology or a closely related field.

 Experience with community level health initiatives

 Outstanding communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.

 Ability to develop and implement assessment strategies and reports.

 

HOURLY RATE: $10/hour for up to 300 hours

ANTICIPATED START DATE: February 1, 2019
