NEW! One-to-One Writing Center Help for Thesis & Dissertation Writers

The University of Tennessee Writing Center is piloting a new service in Spring 2019 to provide one-to-one assistance for graduate students writing a thesis or dissertation in any discipline.

Where: Pendergrass Library, Ag Campus. Ask at the front desk for the Writing Center consultant. No appointment is needed.

Writing Center Services at Pendergrass Library

Writing Consultations: Meet one-to-one with a Writing Center consultant, who will offer constructive feedback designed to help you with your writing processes and written document. Conversations may include planning and outlining, organizing the structure of a chapter, learning how to polish a later draft, how to cite sources, and more. If you’re stuck and need help getting going again, talking with us will help! If you have questions about your introduction, literature review, findings, or discussion sections, we can help you with that too.

Up to 60 minutes per student per week, time permitting. If other writers are waiting, we will work with you in 30-minute inten/als.

Editing: Contact us at writingcenter@utk.edu for a referral to a qualified freelance editor if you need copy editing/proofreading. This will be a private, fee-based freelance arrangement between you and the editor.
