Assistant Study Coordinator (from Dr. Jay Whelan, Head, UT Department of Nutrition)
The UT Department of Nutrition is conducting aclinical trial involving a combination of herbal extracts that have been shown to be protective against vascular injury.
They are seeking an individual who would like to get some research experience in a clinical setting by helping a clinical coordinator recruit, enroll and monitor study participants in a clinical trial. In collaboration with the Lead Study Coordinator, discuss the study with patients in person or over the phone to gauge interest and eligibility. Meet with patients at each visit to ensure all study visit procedures are completed including ultrasound (completed by ultrasound technician), study medication return, study medication dispensing, monitoring for new Adverse Events and Concomitant Medications. Call patients on a bi-weekly basis to assess study medication compliance as well as assess any new Adverse Events and Concomitant Medications the subject may be taking. Complete and maintain source documents after each visit as well as entering data into the Excel database. The hours are flexible and would depend on your schedule.
