Bio
Dr. Melaro’s research involves using wearable sensors to quantify movement and load characteristics in clinical and sport populations. The signals from these sensors can be used for human activity recognition (HAR) and load monitoring, both of which can respectively tell us how and to what extent someone is moving. Additional topics of interest include resistance training monitoring, return-to-play following injury, and exploring sports data using statistical or machine learning analysis. Dr. Melaro has interest in applying this work across populations, from high performance athletes and teams to clinical populations.
