Ed Howley served as a faculty member in the department from 1970-2007. He had the pleasure of working with excellent colleagues and students, and thoroughly enjoyed the balance of teaching, research, and service. He taught undergraduate courses in fitness testing and prescription, and undergraduate and graduate courses in exercise physiology. He was recognized for his teaching throughout his career. He published more than 60 research articles and continues to revise two textbooks: Fitness Professional’s Handbook (with B.
