Research Associate

This full-time post is offered on a 2 year fixed-term contract with a start date of 1 September 2014. A Research Associate is required to work on an exciting project studying the ‘sport for development and peace’ (SDP) sector, funded by the UK Economic & Social Research Council. You will investigate the use of sport to promote development and peace in different international locations, and the strategies and partnerships of diverse SDP organisations. Key duties will include undertaking fieldwork and interviews, writing papers and liaising with project user groups. Applicants must have a PhD in a relevant social science discipline or in the social scientific study of sport, doctoral or recent post-doctoral research in a relevant area, and experience of undertaking qualitative research.
