BIOMECHANICS FACULTY POSITION DESCRIPTION

DEPARTMENT OF KINESIOLOGY AND NUTRITION SCIENCE

Whittier College has an opening for a full-time Visiting Professor in the Department of Kinesiology and Nutrition Science beginning August 2016.  The faculty member will teach undergraduate courses in biomechanics, research methods and courses that meet the interdisciplinary component of the curriculum. In addition, the successful candidate will demonstrate the ability to supervise senior seminar projects and lead undergraduate research in biomechanics. The minimum qualifications for the position include:  Ph.D. (ABD will be considered) in kinesiology, biomechanics, or a closely-related field from an accredited institution; a strong background in biomechanics; university teaching experience; achievements in scholarly research; and effective communication skills. In addition to the academic requirements, the position requires excellence in teaching and a commitment to the mission of Whittier College.
