Kinesiology & Health: Tenure-track Assistant Professor to teach courses in Sport Analytics, direct the Sport Analytics Summer Academy, maintain an active research agenda, advise undergraduate and graduate students, and provide service to the institution. Position begins Summer 2020.

Required: A Ph.D. in Sport Analytics, Sport Management, Sport Administration, or closely-related field (such as Data Analytics, Economics, Statistics) required by date of appointment.

Consideration may be given to candidates with 1) evidence of high-quality instruction; 2) experience teaching sport analytics courses at the college level including, but not limited to, Sport Analytics, Database Programming, Regression Modeling, Data Visualization, and Sport Economics and Finance; 3) evidence of scholarship in sport management, analytics, or closely-related field; and 4) experience or evidence of leading academic programming.

Sport Leadership and Management (SLAM) is a growing program of 600+ undergraduate students and 40+ graduate students. The mission of SLAM is to prepare students to succeed in leadership positions in the sport industry (recreational to professional, youth to adult) by providing them with knowledge and skills to critically analyze and innovatively engage in the business and culture of sport. The SLAM undergraduate major has four areas of concentration designed to prepare students for specific career opportunities in Sport Management, Coaching, Sport Journalism, and Sport Media and Communication. Students often co-major or minor in management, marketing, or entrepreneurship in the Farmer School of Business, a nationally rated top-25 undergraduate business program. Sport Analytics is a new area of SLAM, building upon Miami University’s commitment to data analytics, and funded by the Boldly Creative strategic enhancement initiative. This includes offering of sport analytics-based courses and a Sport Analytics Summer Academy.
