Graduate School: Fall Orientations for New Students

Each fall, two orientations are held prior to the start of classes that students are encouraged to attend. The New Graduate Student Orientation is an orientation designed to help graduate students new to UT get information on a variety of topics to help them get situated. The New Graduate Teaching Assistant/Associate Orientation is for graduate students who will be teaching assistants or associates for the first time. This orientation includes information on teaching practices and working with students.

For fall 2019, the dates for the orientations are the following:

  • New Graduate Student Orientation—Tuesday, August 13, 8:00 a.m.–1:00 p.m.
  • New Graduate Teaching Assistant/Associate Orientation—Friday, August 16, 8:00 a.m.–11:30 a.m.

Both orientations will take place in the ballroom of the Student Union, room 272.

Newly admitted graduate students should have received an invitation to RSVP for the Fall 2019 New Graduate Student Orientation at ngso2019.questionpro.com. If you did not receive an invitation, but will be attending UT for the first time as a graduate student in fall 2019, please feel free to RSVP to help us plan.
