Part-time graduate assistant positions available

Dr. Bewer, Professor Emeritus and PI/Director of CAPS Outreach Center, administers a variety of federal grants in the CAPS Outreach Center that employ 40+ individuals per year. Please see his message below:

I have always tried to incorporate part-time positions in my grant proposals to assist graduate students who need part-time employment. During the 37+ years that I have administered grants and contracts, I have provided financial assistance (part-time employment) to 675+ graduate students.

At this time, I have several part-time graduate assistant positions available with a starting date of September 1, 2019. The positions do NOT provide a fee waiver; however, they do offer valuable professional experience, and the salaries are very competitive. Some of the basic duties are academic advising, providing classroom instruction, conducting workshops, tutoring, financial aid and college/career advising, and performing a variety of outreach services. The successful candidate must be available to work up to 20 hours per week within the timeframe of target high schools and be available to work monthly scheduled Saturday Sessions. We will be interviewing applicants immediately until the positions are filled. If you know graduate students who are currently looking for part-time employment, please have them contact my grant office in the HPER Building at 974-4466 immediately. Individuals with math and science background are encouraged to apply. In keeping with University policy, our application procedure requires that any interested student submit a cover letter and resume for consideration. Your assistance in this matter is greatly appreciated.

If you have any specific questions, please call my office at 974-4466.
