If you are planning to travel to present your research between April 15 and August 31, you should look into this source of funding.

The final deadline for the GSS Travel Award is April 15, 2011, but you need to go through several internal department and college steps well before that date.  The application includes a section to be completed by your faculty advisor and also requires the signature of the department head (Dr. Thompson).  Once completed, it must be submitted to Dr. Susan Benner (335 Claxton Complex) by Noon on April 8, 2011, so that she can review and sign it.  Click here for the application or here to go to the GSS website.  Good luck!

If you receive this funding, list it on your CV under Awards or a similar category.  In my experience, most people view this as a legitimate recognition for students and new graduates.  With more professional experience, many people will then remove these items.
