The PRIDElist is a campus-wide initiative focused on raising the visibility of the LGBTQ+ community and its allies at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville. As you may know, UT has been rated one of the most LGBTQ+-unfriendly campuses by the Princeton Review for the last several years, and many of our LGBTQ+ students feel that there is not support for their diverse identities outside the Pride Center. That’s where the PRIDElist comes in: anyone with a UT affiliation (faculty/staff, current student, and/or alum) is encouraged to sign the list in support of the LGBTQ+ community. These digital signatures will be solicited until September 25, 2019, and the full list of supporters will be published in October (LGBTQ+ History Month) in the Daily Beacon as well as online on the Pride Center website. With the PRIDElist, we hope to demonstrate to our students and campus community that they are not alone during their time here at Rocky Top but in fact surrounded by faculty, staff, fellow students, and alums that care about their identities and are passionate about making UT a more inclusive place. We hope you will take a minute to add your name to the 2019 PRIDElist and help kick off this new campus tradition.
