Would you be interested in serving as one of the two KRSS representatives on the Graduate Student Senate (GSS)? If so, please send an email to lars@utk.edu.
Ideally we are looking for one PhD student and one master’s student to serve as Senators.
Aside from a commitment to represent graduate and professional student interests, and a commitment to complete the responsibilities listed below, there is no other requirement for a student to be a GSS senator.
The main responsibilities include attending 1.5 hour long monthly meetings (scheduled for evenings); actively participating in an internal committee (e.g. Annual Fundraiser); and participating in an external committee if there is an opportunity. This would amount to about 2-5 hours a month depending on the senator’s commitment.
The first GSS meeting will take place on September 18 from 6-7:30 PM.
