POSITION: Full-time tenure-track position at the Assistant Professor level beginning in Fall 2017

APPOINTMENT DATE: 09-01-2017

RESPONSIBILITIES: The Sport Management program emphasizes experiential learning and is committed to the practice-to-theory-to-practice model of teaching. Responsibility will be to teach undergraduate and/or graduate courses in the Department. Depending on experience and Department needs, the candidate must be able to teach in preferably two (2) or more of the following areas of the sport academy: sales and entrepreneurship; intercollegiate athletics management; finance; ethics; organizational behavior; strategic management; research methods. Additional responsibilities include academic advisement, service, and scholarly work. Additionally, the assistant professor will produce research and other scholarly and creative activities; provide service to the department and college; and provide academic advisement and mentoring to students.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Ph.D. or Ed.D. in Sport Management or related discipline. ABD with a designated date of completion within twelve (12) months of start date may be considered.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Teaching experience in Sport Management, preferably in two (2) or more areas previously indicated, and demonstrated record of: scholarly work (publications and presentations) in Sport Management or strong evidence of such scholarly work in the future; professional experience in the sport industry; involvement as a member of national/international professional associations related to sport management and/or the sport industry; and academic and/or community service.
